Damon Albarn says a new The Good The Bad & The Queen
album has been written.
Damon Albarn this week has revealed to The Sydney Morning Herald that a new album by his side project The
Good The Bad & The Queen has been fully written and he is also in the
process of writing a new Gorillaz album too.
The last time the band - which features The Clash bassist
Paul Simonon and The Verve guitarist Simon Tong – played together was during a
series of gigs in London back in 2011 and their self-titled debut album was
released in 2007.
Albarn also told the Morning
Herald about what the future holds for Blur. He said “I would imagine there’s some kind of
future, but at the moment there’s no time for the future – only the present.
Who knows?” Albarn recently told the NME that
Blur may never even finish the album they started to make in 2013.
It’s been a busy
year for Albarn who’s first solo album was released in April this year and has
been nominated for this year’s Mercury Music Prize. He also plays a one off solo show at London’s
Royal Albert Hall on November the 15th.
