Liam Gallagher says Beady Eye have split up
Liam Gallagher has stated that his band Beady Eye who formed
in 2011 and featured former Oasis members Gem Archer and Andy Bell have split
up.
The band released two albums, the first in 2011 entitled “Different
Gear Still Speeding” and the second album “BE” was released in 2013.
The frontman tweeted on the 24th of October
stating that the band “are no longer” and to thanks the fans for their support.
Guitarist Andy Bell has also tweeted about the split.
It has been a turbulent year for the band and Gallagher in
particular. Earlier this year the band split from their manager Scott Rodger
and more recently Gallagher has been in the news as he attempted to finalise
child support payments for the daughter he fathered with journalist Liza
Ghorbani.
Ghorbani and Gallagher got together after she interviewed
him for the New York Times in 2010 and subsequently gave birth to a daughter
Gemma in January 2013. Gallagher was living with his then-wife Nicole Appleton
and son Gene when news about Ghorbani’s claims were brought to light. The pair
subsequently split and Ghorbani filed a £2 million lawsuit against the singer
for child support.
