Trampolene You Do Nothing For Me. Single Review

Trampolene: You Do Nothing For Me (Single Review)

Trampolene are originally from Swansea and they are living in London scraping by on dole money. They released this single in 2013 and going by this song alone I hope an album is on the way soon.

The song is called You Do Nothing For Me, and it begins with almost a break beat and then the bass and guitar come in with heavily distorted bass and a brilliant riff sounding a little like Fascination Street by The Cure but Trampolene make it their own with the opening lyric "Goodbye, See you later" which sets the song up perfectly. It's raw and "in your face" Singer (Jack Jones) has the sneer of Liam Gallagher and a similar to voice too, but I also think there is a bit of Kasabian in there too, coupled with the backing vocals, Jack also has the vocal prowess similar to that of Serge Pizzorno.

There is a subtle Oasis reference not only in the way the song sounds but in the lyrics, I don't know whether this was intentional but I think it sounds great none the less "You wanna be a shakermaker" The song then pauses for a small bass solo and then immediately explodes again almost like a boxing match when you think it's over another punch knocks you out, I can see this song playing very well live too almost taking on a life of it's own.

It's a great single and as mentioned earlier I hope there is an album to follow!
