The Wombats Your Body Is A Weapon - Single Review
The Wombats returned this month with a brand new single, and I think its safe to say that the indie, guitar twanging we became a custom to when they first burst on to the music scene in 2007 is long gone. This song is primarily synth and keyboard based, it's almost as if we have gone back to the early 80's! The one indie thing that is still present in this song is the drum beat its a typical off beat indie drum beat, similar to the likes of Two Door Cinema Club. That a-side the song is quite poppy and polite and nothing like the first album A Guide To Love Loss and Desperation. I am only judging the new album by this song but I hope that on some of the other songs they return to their guitars because their last album This Modern Glitch flopped a bit, it didn't make the same impact as their first album and they need a song like Lets Dance to Joy Division that can drive the album forward.
